It Snowed!!!

We certainly enjoyed our snow days here in Greenville. It was so exciting to watch Hannah experience her first time playing in the snow. It may be a year or two before this happens again so we made sure to make the most of it. It started snowing here around 6 so we didn't go out until after dinner. Nate and I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart through the snow to get her some rain boots and some warm mittens. We found one of the last pairs of boots and they were just her size. She got all bundled up with 4 layers on top, three layers on bottom, a scarf, hat, and mittens. Hannah was soooooo excited about playing in the snow and we were able to go out and enjoy the snow falling all around. She made her first snow ball which she chucked at her dad and she would have been happy to stay out all night.

Here she is getting ready to go outside in all her clothes and then enjoying her first romp in the snow.

Family fun in the snow!!

Hannah's very first snowball! She was very proud of it

In the morning we got up and went sledding. She loved it!! Nate was able to stay home until lunch so we went up the hill and went sledding down the street. She really enjoyed it but then she started to get cold from the wind so we headed inside for some warm food and hot cocoa.

Hannah sledding for the very first time ever! She absolutely loved it and she got to ride on a classic sled that was made in 1928. This was a sled that Nate's Pop (grandfather) had as a kid and it has been passed down through the family. They really got going and you'll notice Hannah was a helpful driver.

Here she is playing in the snow when we came back out after lunch. The snow was starting to melt but there was still more than enough for a few snowmen. Hannah wanted to scrape all the snow off the bushes while I built the snow family. I thought I'd give the snow mom a crown- she works hard and deserves one. :-) I forgot how tiring it is to make snowmen. I was wiped out after rolling those snowballs around and man were they heavy. We were fresh out of coal so we used sweet gum balls for the eyes and mouths and a few baby carrots for the noses. Notice on the snow girl those are not hairy ears but in fact are pigtails (aka. pine needles) They look so happy together don't they :-)

This evening we had some comforting white chicken chili and some good time cuddling by the fire. All in all it was a fabulous couple of snow days. I think once a year or every other year is just enough for this kind of weather. Hannah wanted to stay out all day and said she would like to live where it snowed more often but that just isn't gonna happen. The south is the place to be
